MOORE ? The Run for Moore Hope organization will host ?A Race to Remember the Moore Angels.? The Moore Angels represent the 10 children, all under the age of 10, tragically taken in the May 20 tornado.
The 5K benefit will be at the YMCA Earlywine Park and sponsored by DG Productions on Aug. 17. Through meeting with the Moore Angel families, Run for Moore Hope recognized the immediate need for financial support to the families. The event date was specifically chosen with the families in mind, knowing their children would be going back to school during this time.
The entry fee for the race is $20 if the participant registers by Aug. 1. Kids 12 and under are free. The fun walk will begin at 7 p.m., the 5k and family fest at 7:30 p.m. The family fest is free to everyone and will include food, drinks, music, snow cones, inflatables, face painting, a fireworks display and much more to honor and celebrate the Moore Angels.
Several companies in the community are joining together to support this community-wide event. The Run for Moore Hope organization is designated for disaster relief with 100 percent of the proceeds used to help restore the lives of those impacted by the tornado. The majority of proceeds will be evenly dispersed among the nine Moore Angel families and a small percentage will benefit the Restore Moore: Project Teacher Fund.
May 20 is a day in Oklahoma that changed the community forever. Most Oklahomans are searching for a way to specifically help the victims. Run for Moore Hope is bringing the community together to help by raising money to meet immediate needs for those who lost so much. People can help in three different ways to support the Moore Angel families. They can join the race or fun walk, $20 if the participant registered before Aug. 1st. They can sponsor the event. Information is available on moorerunandfun.com or make a donation at any First Fidelity Bank Run Moore Hope account.
